Tough Mudder is described as “probably the toughest event on the planet” and after 5hrs, 20km slog of thick MUD, 25 British Special Forces Obstacles and EIGHT electric shocks for me, we’re now officially ‘TOUGH MUDDERS!’ We managed to get over 3m Berlin walls, through underground mud tunnels, electric shocks (TWO DIFFERENT OBSTACLES) a fire pit & the refreshing ice bath plus burnt 2,120 calories with the help of other awesome unknown Mudders!!
We attempted all tasks and I only just didn’t complete 2 being monkey bars (slipped off 4 in) and (‘Mt Everest’ half pipe, touched but just missed gripping the hands to get pulled up).
Our training paid off as we were definitely fit enough but it was certainly a tough course and we went at our own pace. We were tested physically and conquered fears while having a good laugh and fun at the same time! Half way through I said I wonder if I could back up next year? After pulling up pretty okay the next day that’s possibly the new goal, camp overnight and do TWO Tough Mudders Back to Back!
The event was held at Glenworth Valley in Sydney on Sunday 23rd September 2012 – the venue and organisation was Excellent!
