Being a lifelong learner, Jeanette knows community consultation is paramount. Her ongoing community involvement over the years has been extensive and she is always willing to help, be involved and participate wherever needed.

Jeanette understands the necessity for full compliance with the Local Government Act 2009 and adherence to the Five Principles underpinning that Act. Jeanette will promote and uphold honesty, leadership, professionalism, common sense and accountability. She will make responsible, transparent, independent decisions with a thoughtful considered approach, based on financial viability and always with the best interests of the community at heart.

She has met, conversed with and corresponded with The Queensland Ombudsman, several State and Federal Government Ministers and their Directors resulting in the lodgement of several matters and non-compliance concerns. Jeanette is not afraid to ask questions and demands results.

Jeanette lodged an Official Fraser Coast Regional Council Complaint on 14 August 2015, which escalated into an Official Ombudsman Complaint resulting in over $190,000+ being refunded to the community for fake backflow device fees for 2016/2017; as Council did not have a program in place for the maintenance and testing of devices as required by s.38(1) of the SPD reg. Jeanette is still owed a further 4 years of proven fake backflow fees.
